Hiya, I'm Amber!

I grew up in CA's bay area. My first love was illustration, which introduced me to the vast creative world.

On one hand, I am an artist: I believe colors, shapes, and composition can convey what words cannot. On the other hand, I am a researcher. I am fascinated by what makes people tick—their motivations, thought processes, and desires. My background in psychology and design/HCI helps me create with intention and goals.

Most importantly, I am passionate, and about more than just my career. I pursue all my hobbies with great love and excitement. Check out some of my hobby projects below!

I think cooking and baking is a very personal thing: a form of self expression. By recording my culinary adventures, I've built a time capsule for myself! Each dish is associated with memories and emotions, and when I look through them, I am reminded of previous versions of me.

I started drawing when I was in elementary school. The process of building layers upon each other to create a finished piece is deeply satisfying to me. Much like game development, I was drawn to the worldbuilding and storytelling potential of illustration. I'm mostly inspired by the richness of pop media/culture I see around me.

Video games are formative to who I am today; they have helped me connect (and reconnect) with loved ones over the years. Gaming also provides an ineffable form of escapism that enriches my imagination. I want to bring that type of magic to other people too. Every now and then, I am able to mold worlds and breathe life into code and pixels.
